I have an 8 week old doe fawn. She came from a farm that wasn't the best of conditions. Actually all the other fawns the person had died. Anyway, last week I removed a bot fly, then yesterday I removed another from the exact spot on the opposite side. I've been putting iodine in it, but it has pus coming out. Should I give antibiotics? If so what kind? We are a "hobby" farm and only have 2 yearly does besides her and we never had any of the issues with them.

You could hit her with some LA 200 or some facsimile there of since I would be more worried about a bacterial infection. A very small amount though. On an 8 week old doe fawn, I would go with .2-.3cc sub-q and then again in three days. Since she is laden with parasites, I would go ahead and worm her with Ivomec (1cc per 100lbs) orally. Then I would sponge her with a permethrin solution every other day to keep the flies off. That's what I would do.

I use the ivomec pour on. is that good, or should i get the injectable. I did use the pour on yesterday on her.
