I did not donate to this sale directly but I purchased a donated item all the same! Much thanks to Joe & Abe Miller for their donation. I can't wait to put Dreamer in my girls!

Great lots! It was for a great cause and it was lots of fun following the sale! I bid on lots of stuff...but only ended up winning one lot. Oh well...can't win them all! I wish every Wed. was like that!!

Next Wednesday should be just like that. There are already 126 consignments for next week. There are also a few leftover lots for the Brakke Benefit Auction that will be available next week too.

Todd, on behalf of the entire cervid industry, thank you and Whitetail Exchange for arranging and having this benefit auction for Tom and Rhonda Brakke. This could be any one of us at any time. It made me proud to see our industry step up and spend their hard earned money and give the awesome donations that were given to support this worthy cause. We owe the Brakkes a debt of gratitude for fighting the fight for this industry.

I can tell you that this was one of the most gratifying things I have ever been a part of with Whitetail Exchange. It was one of those things that was a "labor of love" to do. A couple of years ago I realized how important of a tool Whitetail Exchange can be for things like this. Initially when the site was started, I had somewhat of a close minded view of what the site could do. I thought it would be a place where EVERYONE could sell, regardless of the size of their farm or the size of their budget. A place that could streamline the sales of both animals and semen. That was pretty much it.

What Whitetail Exchange has grown into has really blown me away. The site not only has sold millions and millions of dollars of semen and animals for people, it has raised well over $200,000 for very worthy causes. I have never sat down and put a pencil to it and came up with an exact amount it has raised for charities, state associations and national associations, but I would say that the $200,000 number is more than likely a low number over the last 5 1/2 years.

Right now the NYDEFA auction is live on the site to raise money for their organization. Scott and I are dedicated to making this industry better and giving farmers the tools to make them better. We don't claim to have all the answers, but we are constantly trying to think of different and creative ways to help all deer farmers.

Doing this benefit auction was a "No Brainer". This was something that obviously needed to be done for ALL deer farmers, not just the Brakke's. I know that in the scope of what the Brakke's have already spent, the $38,000 that we all raised cannot come close to covering their costs, but now a bunch of us have contributed to a cause that could change our industry forever.
