I have a question my big buck shed both sides yesterday. He didn't shed intel march 17 last year. When I picked up his sheds they smelled like fish or something of that nature. Very smelly. And I'm not sure he feels good. Could it be the cold ? it's around 10 degrees out.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks Jim

I thought about hitting him With drax. But I'm not sure if he doesn't feel good of just twisted his back end on the frozen ground.

I just have never had a bucks horns smell that way. If their sick can it translate to there horns even if there hard horned or am I just looking for something that's not wrong?

I have seen lots of bucks get infection underneath the pedicles to there antlers. I I would put a dart of draxxin in him and keep your eye on him. He should be fine.

Thanks guys I just hit him with 2cc of drax and I will keep my eye on him. He shed both sides same time and the smell is from the front to back. And the peds look clean and no smell of infection. He ended up with 27 in main beams and 26 in inside spread. And lots of mass.

I have two bucks the have shed so far Zeus and a yearling. I didn't breed and of my deer this year so that might be why they are shedding early. Low T ..... Lol

I just picked up my first shed.

My two year old Y70 ( est.210" ) 5x5 main frame I call HighTime.

This is my first year raising deer so I find it very cool.

Will he drop the other side soon?
