was wondering if some of you experienced breeders could take a look at the layout I have drawn up before I send it to my engineers to finish the final drafting, details and specs. .

Here is sample layout.

your gates on your alley open the wrong way on the the drawing, also i would also put gates to go pen to pen. just a thought..

Back pen needs a gate in corner to one of the smaller pens. you will have to push deer into smaller pen then to runway they will never go through that door being it is on the side of pen.Along with rainer i to would put gates from pen to pen. Other than that looks good.

I attached the layout in excel format on my first post. I didn't know that you could attach documents, but i know now!!

you need to put all your gates in corners this makes it much easier to push deer through gates very hard to get deer to go through gates on side of pens.In your runway to your shute you need to have some sort of holding stalls to put your deer in so when you run your deer out of the shute other deer aren't in the way

The purple area is holding areas. If you pull up the excel file I attached you can see them. Are they in the right place?

were are you located and have you looked at many other facilaties.check your messages.

Sorry, this isn't to scale but gives you an idea of what our place looks like. The handling facility is located at the far right, but is inside a pen. The pens outside the barn are 8x8x8 solid walls with gates that are hinged on gate rods so can be opened from either direction. Hope this file is easy enough to see, had to mangle it down a lot to get it to fit on the size restriction.

You should "45" your corners. That way deer can't hang up there or get cornered. Angle all the corners you can, even through your handling facility.
