The leg should heal fine. As long as it isn't a compound fracture. I had a doe break a front leg in at least 3 places once. I have ho idea how she did it, but it was broke above the knee, below the knee and above the ankle. It was a horrible sight. She broke it in December, so luckily the cold weather would help with the swelling. I darted the deer down to get a better look at things. The leg looked like a snake. All swollen and just laying in a wavy position, almost like it was pulverized. Anyways, I was very close to putting her down. My wife asked me to give her a couple days, to she if she would eat and give her a chance to heal. I did give her some Vitamin B complex, LA 200 and probiotics while I had her down. She never missed a beat. She ate well and kept up with the rest of the herd. By spring time she barely had a limp, and by fall she walked as normal as any deer.
One thing. Swelling is a good thing. Don't try to eliminate it, but keep it under control. The swelling will help set the leg in place, and carry blood to the injury for the healing.
These are tough animals. Give her a chance.
Good Luck!
