I have a 2yr old buck that is acting a little funny the last two days he won't eat any treats and I have not seen him at the feeder. He is drinking water and eating brown leaves and brown grass I also have seen him eat some bark off a tree. He looks to have lost a little weight. He is bottle fed and easy to work with.

Have any idea's?

I did have to tranq. him on Monday to put a tag in his ear while I had him down I give him Ivermec Plus, and some Vitamin B complex.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't wory probaly be all right in few days i've seen mine act simular after being put down and wormed. Not all seem to react like this but some do and after few days were fine. Longer than week i would maybe wory a little.

Hey guys,

This buck did start acting a little better after a few days but then he lost his cut offs 4 or 5 days ago and has since been real stand offish and is not eating any of the daily treats (peanuts) and by the way he is looking I am not sure he is eating much of anything.

Any Idea's?

Randy,

My whole herd basically cut 50% of their feed intake this week, and since you are a few hundred miles south of me, I'd bet you have plenty of green things for them to browse on-mine sure do, which is a relief, because I have only two more bales of alfalfa left to throw out. Are you certain he's sick? Maybe he just has less "taste" for the normal things if what he is craving is weeds and whatever else you might have growing...

Brett-

I always thought that you could not "feed" pour on wormer. We use safeguard in the Spring.

Our deer are eating less as well.

It says not to on the label but deerfarmers I talk to have been doing it for years. I poured it in the feed about three weeks ago and the deer slacked off for a couple days on the eating but came back in full force. I think the deer slacked off due to the change in season because everyone says their deer slacked off and most did not worm. Soak it in corn and let it dry and they will gobble it up.
