Sounds like you have the protein right about where it needs to be I would check your fat and make sure it is atleast around 6%.

you are fine with that feed protien wise, as Randy already mentioned, just give the feed, some good alfalfa hay occasionally and leave a mineral block in their pens so they can lick at it when they desire it, thats really all i would think you can do.

A whitetail fawn usually does not grow from Nov-March, they put all there bodily energy into survival mode and keeping warm, then at green up they really put the weight on and their body size begins to increase, that is what i have read from researchers that study wild deer. If the same rules apply to pen deer, you will probably not notice much bodily growth until early spring no matter how good the feed. just a thought.

Jeff23, If by "push" you mean you want to fatten them up ? Top dress thier feed with Calf Manna and then top dress that with a little Extruded soybean meal.............They will fatten up nicely! If thats the kinda "push" you are looking for ?

Jeff23, We use Extruded Soybean Meal on our bucks during antler growing time,on our does before and during nursing thier fawns and on bottle babies to help to fill them out! You will lear that its used in moderation, expecially with the fawns and some does can get a little "loose" if your not careful................The deer LOVE it!
