Can a deer get a hurnia

Here is a 3 year old buck that looks like he has a hurnia on his side. He seems to be thining down a bit but i see him eating with the rest of the deer. What would this be? The bulge is on the left side of the body, just in front of the back leg.

From the pic it looks like an abscess if he were mine I'd hit him with 3 cc penicillin for 3 days in a roll. Might ask a vet but that's what I would do
 
I have trail cam photo's of 2 wild deer with hurnia's, one is a doe that has one the size of a basketball below her belly. When I seen the first photo I thought she would die for sure but have photo's of her for 3 year's now. Have never seen her in person or ever had a photo of her with a fawn. The other is a 2 year old buck with a small one on his right side, just had first photo's of him with it last year. Hope he is still around he was a nice 2 year old.
 
we shot a buck on our preserve that had one normal testicle and one the size of a cantaloupe he was seven years old
