I wasn't able to attend, but from what I saw it looked to be a good sale with relatively strong prices. Actually better than I expected, but that is a good thing.
This is good for the industry to see this. It shows that the sky is not falling as some would lead you to believe and that we have (like every other industry) just experienced a downturn from the poor economy and things are turning around.
It is no big secret that it has been a buyers market the last couple of years. But if you recall I said last winter that prices would be coming up again this season and they are. If you want to improve the value of your herd the Chupps sale was a great place to start. If you didn't buy there you have a couple of more sales this season yet to do it. But I wouldn't wait too long to make your moves to improve your herds or you will be wishing you had bought sooner.
