Holly, if you follow these forums you will note that many of the "old timers" just don't participate anymore. I still try to help when someone has a problem that I have previously dealt with in our herd, but just don't want the hassle of worrying that some butthead will take some kind of offense and ruin things so I generally stay off. Sorry I had to stay home and feed fawns and didn't get to come out for the Congress.

I agree with you. It is sad that there are people out there that you can't trust anymore and they will stab you in the back when possible. It is amazing to me that anybody that is dishonest can still sell deer in this industry. I think we should band together and get rid of the people that lie, cheat, and steal their way in the deer industry. All a guy has is his word and once that is compromised - how do you trust them? That's why I have started "The List". Some of you are aware of this and know what it's about. For those of you who don't, it's a list of people that are dishonest no goods that I won't do business with. Mine is sadly getting to be a long list.
I think your deer are huge and Maxbo has some absolutely beautiful sons- as the OK show displayed, Hardcore has some real value.

I haven't been reading the forum the last few days, but I heard about some of the crap that was being said on here. I JUST walked in the house from a looooong drive home. I attended the auction and the next day made some farm visits. Thanks to Michael for taking me around, and to Kevin Wallace, Tim Condict, and David and Holly for letting me see your farms.
After hearing some stuff while at the auction I was excited to go see Hardcore in person to see what the big deal was all about. All I can say is WOW! I was struggling with my thoughts on what to use this year in my doe Dolly (the mother of Updraft) and in my doe Bubbles who is Bucky/Little Pebbles. The struggle is over! Hardcore ALL THE WAY! David is sold out for the year but I was lucky to have a good friend who is setting me up with what I need.
Holly, don't forget to write me down on the list for next fall. Updraft's full sister will be breeding age then

I saw the 2 pics side by side and the one looked to me like it had been worked on.But I know nothing about photo shop.
PEOPLE!!!!, check for yourself if the picture is real. We all know that a deer's ear (on average) is six inches. Take any picture where the deer is looking straight on, AND where you can measure the ear. Once you establish how much six inches is, on that given picture, you should be able to establish whether is was or was not altered. If the deer is looking straght on, you can establish the spread. Remember, you can't use one pictures measurements for a different picture. Of course, this is due to distance from camera, etc. How about a free straw of semen for the closest spread? Anyone???? Let's see what the results are....... get measuring!!!!!

I just made my yearly trip to David's place to look at his bucks and there is no picture that can show anyone how big Hardcore is this year. He is the best looking deer I have ever seen and I think he will be the biggest typical ever. He will be the hottest bucks for years to come. Congratulations once again David. Sure glad I bought that Semen last year.
I have to admit first glance at Hardcore and you have to question whether or not it is possible to grow a buck that enormous. But when you think about it, Cougar Ridge has produced some industry leaders so the reputation at stake is far greater than any short-term gain of a one buck hype. That alone should be enough but you also have many people saying "yea, it's true." All I can say is I wish my does could have a dance with Hardcore!

I have deleted my post above and for lack of getting into a huge bible study, let's just say that post has really been weighing heavily on me. Our whole lesson last weekend in church was about turning the other cheek (how ironic), no matter how bad someone is to you.... just turn the other cheek. I have not done well with that and will from here forward.

He will be officially scored when his rack is dried and cut by an official SCI scorer and the winner will be notified then and on this thread.
