I just started my farm back in the summer. I have a 1 acer size pen. I am planning to build another next to it this spring. My pen is in a open field. I just got done planting some oak trees on one side of the pen. What would you plant along edges or inside the pen.?

Outside edge -white pines, forsythia, standard burning bush

Put wire across the inside of the corners so they become 45 degree. Inside that new triangle plant 3 chestnut trees. Always plant in groves or groups of 3 rather than 2. This keeps the eye from sorting and has more curb appeal. Also dig aquare hole rather than round holes when planting trees. They will grow much faster. The roots will grow outward instead of initially in a circle.
