I not big on facebook I maybe doing something wrong.

They probubly deleted it because it wasnt what they wanted to hear as far as who we are under I agree coming from a state that is under the Ag department to a state that is ran by conservation I can tell you Ag is a lot better to deal with when you ask a question they give you a good answer not beat around the bush and change the subject. I was at the conference at the lake and it seemed like all they know how to do is lie was really ?ing why i moved to Missouri after hearing all the BS that they were saying.

Thanks to Sam James and Donald Hill for speaking at the meeting today with the MDC. These guys did a great job representing all of us in the deer business. It was obvious that the decision had already been made to issue the moritorium before the meeting ever started. Private property rights and the rights of small business took a beating today at the hands of our government.

Sorry I am late in saying so, but YES-thank you so much to Sam and Donald for the research they have done, but mostly for speaking up at the Commissioner's meeting yesterday. For those of you who weren't there, they brought the much-needed facts, opinion, and emotion that I certainly could not have provided...I'm really sorry for myself and everyone else in Missouri that the panel of commissioners did not vote in our favor. My problem is not with the current ruling; my problem is with the state's favor to appease the Dept of Conservation, and I fear that the next issue and those that come thereafter will be easily passed, no matter what they might be. I will say that Becky Plattner wasn't present (see the back cover of the July Missour Conservationist). I don't know if she has left the panel of commissioners or if she was absent yesterday. She's a Democrat from Saline County, and happens to be my neighbor here at work. She has been a great advocate of everything I stand for and I wonder if I should go talk to her, if I can persuade her to make a difference for us in the future, if she's even in office anymore. She recently lost the bid for Lt. Governer for Missouri in the primary election. I didn't vote for her because I had a Republican ticket. She's a great gal, though...helped my business out in small ways many times.

I am newer then most here and was wanting to know how deer farmers in states that are under the department of Ag were able to go from Conservation to Ag

Daywood it's not a matter of choice.....it has to be done by your state......need to talk to state legislators.....not an easy task........need to get a lot of support and then convince the powers to be that it is best.

The missouri department of conservations facebook page posted the new regulation and some people chimed in with how bad deer farms are. Kinda struck a nerve and I vented a little. If you get a chance get on there and add some more defense for us. We need to expose as much as posssible to the public in any form. 38,000 people see it.

I can't find it, either. Found their page, but basic information about the Conservation Commission is all I could find. Flyingshamrock, could you post a link?

Guys they are not going to work in your favor .....this is one of the biggest reasons you belong under your dept of Ag..........they won't have a conflict of interest....hopefully, you guys in Mo can make that happen someday....I feel for you guys as it was the same way here in PA before we were moved under dept of Ag.

We have had a moratorium on issuing new permits here in New Jersey since 2002. When they say it won't affect the deer farmers let me tell you that we are now almost extinct through attrition. We currently have bills in place to move us over to the Department of Ag. that will hopefully be passed this year. We've been working on this since 2006.
