Does anyone know if the Co-Op went out of business or what happened to them? Their website is down and their phone # has been disconnected. I usually buy my EHD vaccines from them and now they can't be reached?

I just talked to them yesterday about the vaccine and joined also. It's now called the Deer Breeders Corporation, 972-289-3100 is the number. EHD just started here in South Dakota, bad stuff, just found 2 big wild bucks at my ranch yeasterday and have lost 5 does within the last couple weeks. Any info on remedies would be great, I've been spraying the pens with Permethrin 10% daily and all around them also, it's gotta help some, pray for frost I guess. Here is there website also.

Henry, I sent you a PM.

The vaccine costs between $7-$8.50/dose. To order the vaccine, you must be a member of the DBC but there are different membership options.

It was great talking to you Melanie and finding out the info on the EHD and the vaccine. I've seen it here off and on for years in the wild and hope that the vaccine will help from loosing anymore deer in the future. I just got in the house from doing my nightly "I can't sleep because of this EHD" walk through the pens and noticed frost in the grass!!! Hopefully it will slow this stinking disease down, it's such a waste of an animal. I sure hope the samples I sent to the lab will be able to help find and develop another addition to the vaccine if it's a new strain. Another thing I did this evening and I don't know if it will work but I hung up white sheets of paper towels about every 25 feet around the outside of the pen and soaked em down with tempo, if you've ever worn a white t-shirt outside when the no seeum's are out, you'll know what I mean, they absolutely attack anything white. I don't know if it will help but I figure it can't hurt. Good luck to everyone with there deer this fall.
