Deer Tracking magazine is a family run magazine and they also live a pretty exotic lifestyle up there in the wilds of Canada. I can tell you they are top notch folks and they will respond to you just as soon as they get your messages. Great people and a great magazine.

Hello All,

Sorry I have been unable to get online as much as I would like...lack of sunshine plays havoc with our solar power at this time of year! Solar runs our house and computer. Thanks for your kind words Roger, you are right, we have been planning for a good winter trapping season. And by the way, exotic lifestyle??? Didn't you email me from Bangkok one of the last times you checked in with us!!!...and hey, Curtis...speaking of Cartoon...working on winter issue now...

Hi Jamie,

Sorry for the lack of communication, we checked back in the phone log and yes, you did call an leave a message, and it is my fault for not getting back to you. I was gone that day and got the message 3rd hand (as I deal with the subscription type stuff). No email received (probably lost in cyberspace, as our email address often gets misspelled).

Just a heads up for anyone else who has experienced this problem contacting us...with 5 people in the family (the youngest 10 yrs old) our messages sometimes get misspelled, written down oddly or "forgotten to be passed on". So never hesitate to call and check in again.

Answer to your questions:

We publish 4X per year, with the seasons...we are presently working on the Winter issue which will be in the mail Dec 1.

Subscriptions are $26.00, 47.00, 65.00 (for 1, 2 or 3 year subscriptions)

Sent payment to

Deer Tracking Magazine

Note: extra postage needed to Canada (often envelopes get returned by post office), mailing to us in Northern SK- even if you choose the "overnight" option, it means 2 weeks minimum before we receive! Sometimes we wonder if the Pony Express wasn't a better option!!

Hope that helps. I will try to give you a call today to check in,

Thanks,

Hi Tara,

I am not familiar with your magazine but I am intersted. Due to the lengthly mail process, is it possible to get a subscription by credit card?

Sorry, we are not set up for credit cards, but if you email your address, etc to me and still pop a cheque in the mail, I can add you to this issue going out. I may receive by the time we mail anyway, but if not, they will cross in the mail.

Also, I need to clarify, that the mailing system is "usually" slow, but then the odd time, we will have something in record time....not sure how that happens (and it is few and far between when it does!)

Hope that helps

[email protected] (make sure to spell with no "e"'s except for the one in 'net', or we don't receive).

I would highly recomend Deer Tracking. It is a great magazine. The only bad thing that I can say about it is that there are only four issues a year.

Even though there are four issues a year. Each issue is filled with a wealth of information. We get the Deer Tracking and I am hooked on it. If you apply for the Deer Tracking, its well worth the investment. Keep up the great work Tara and family!!

DITTO: Well said Dilfred!

Thanks everyone. Our family appreciates the encouragement. We try to do a good job, but sometimes we drop the ball too (like returning messages sometimes! :) ) The thing with putting out Deer Tracking is that our family really enjoys it and in a way it helps satisfy that need to be involved in the industry, the people and the deer. You can take the deer away from the deer farmer, but you can't take the deer out of the deer farmer!

Thank you to all who share their pics and stories with us. We love it.

Remember if you have an interesting story or deer farming tip- take pics and give us a call. We enjoy hearing these things. And if we can use it in the magazine (anonymously or not), it helps to share the information with others. When Deer Tracking ceases to be a resource, it will cease...

Thanks again all...now back to the Winter issue...;)

http://www.deertracking.com/subscriptions.php

I think that should be the direct link to the subscription form on the website. Just print off and send to us with payment.

If requiring your subscription to begin with this winter issue, please let me know you have a cheque in the mail and I will make sure you get sent with this mailing. Otherwise, the postal service charges shipping of almost $7.00 extra /magazine if sent between mailings. Just a tip to save you $$! ;)

Crocket...tried emailing but it bounced back... try the above link.

Hope that helps,

Deer Tracking is God’s gift to the deer industry. It is a must for any one just getting started in the deer business. The articles are written from a neutral position with the welfare of the industry in mind. Us old timers can learn allot to.

Great magazine, Five thumbs up, a ten
