DIFHYA?

In the mid-80s and early 90s, the cervid industry was doing very well. Banks were encouraging farmers and ranchers to diversify their operation. New money became available, in many states, to help farmers and ranchers enter this new and promising business. Breeding stock demanded a high price. Manufacturers begin designing and building handling equipment for this great industry. People in this industry were showing a profit and many farms were saved as the result of this industry. And then something went terribly wrong and the industry started to spiral downward out of control.

Government Wildlife Agencies began to realize the drop in hunting license sales was partially due to some consumers purchasing captive raised animals for both meat and trophy. Some consumers were no longer satisfied with smaller and sometimes diseased free range animals. These Wildlife Agencies began to see this industry as a threat to their revenue. Also these Wildlife Agencies were no longer viewed as the authority on cervids. The general public began to realize that Government Wildlife Agencies were doing a very poor job managing free ranging cervids and they started to take notice of all the diseased free ranging cervids in Yellowstone National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park and other herds around the country.

Since that time, Government Wildlife Agencies have done everything within their power to bring this industry down. Most of this went on behind closed doors and they devised plans to destroy this industry by using something they knew would get public support, disease issues. Instead of being honest with the general public and stating that the cervid industry was putting a small dent in their revenue and instead of admitting that they were doing a poor job managing wildlife, they instead used disease issues to gain public support knowing once they had public support, they could influence abusive over regulation to destroy the cervid industry all in the name of protecting wildlife.

If this over regulation was truly about disease, Government Wildlife Agencies would be willing to follow the same regulations that have been forced on this industry. Government Wildlife Agencies refuse to do that.

Also animal rights people have infiltrated some of our Agriculture Agencies causing us some problems there.

You no longer have the option of waiting for someone else to fix these problems because the cervid industry is drowning. It’s going under for the third time and the end is near unless you get up off your carcass and take a stand. Unless you stand up for yourself and demand to be treated fairly, unless you’re willing to say the abusive over regulation stops here and it stops today and mean what you say willing to fight this injustice in court, unless you’re willing to demand fair compensation for your animals and or business, you may as well dig a hole and bury all you have worked so hard for.

If you’re willing to take a stand and fight, there is hope but once you start that court battle, don’t back down, don’t agree to anything that’s less than fair and don’t give up. You pray to God each day that He will help you overcome your enemies.

I have ruffled some feathers and stepped on some toes but it has been for your own good because you need to know just how serious this problem really is before it is too late. Don’t roll over and play dead and think someone else will take care of this problem for you. That attitude is why this industry is in the shape it’s in. Too few people have been willing to stand up and fight and now it’s almost too late! Ban together but also be ready and willing to take a stand and fight on your own!

Do I Finally Have Your Attention?

Well Mr. Autry I have to agree with you 100% on this thread! All Facts and all True.

I also agree Autry

Here in Iowa its very hard to find some land to hunt so why buy hunting license?

If you are lucky enough to find a land owner that lets you hunt he wants paid with no guarantee you will even see a deer.

As far as pheasants the DNR in my opinion has ruined that also by introducing Turkeys in Iowa. Hawks are also out of control Its all about $$$ It cost more to hunt turkeys.

Years ago you couldn't let pheasants go in the wild fear for disease issues now the DNR encourages you to raise pheasants band them and release them only to watch the hawks eat them and turkeys destroy there nest.

Mike that's the first I have ever heard that a turkey will destroy a pheasants nest......hmmm you learn something new everyday..........time to go learn some more of the truth at Church.......I too also agree with what you said above Autry......everyone needs to wake up and take these issues we face a lot more serious.....before it's too late!! be blessed everyone!!
