please offer any advice you can ...I would like to spray directly on the deer but dont know what to use...and will it harm them if they lick it off themselves....also what can be sprayed on the ground and does it have an ill effect on them if it is sprayed on lush clover fields that they eat all the time??

It doesn't seem to bother our doe, they lick it off of their yearlings after I spray it on them. I'm pretty sure it wont harm them but always check the label for warnings, just in case.

I would like to know that same question. Permethrin?? But they

Just lick it off as soon as I put it on.

We use a all natural fly spray that we mix it ourselves. We have it set up in our mister system and spray our fawns with it everyday. The deer could drink it and it will not hurt them. We have been using it for 3 yrs now and have not had a single fly in the barn or on the deer, the stuff it awesome. Get on google and research "homemade fly repelent" its very easy and cost efficiant. Good luck guys hope all does well

Ran across this thread just cruzing the forum........to many choices on Google as stated above.......Drew or anybody that knows of his secret recipe please feel free to share it !! Or your own magic concoction !

For your tame deer, you can use horse spot-on, which is available at most farm stores (TSC sells it). It is in a small tube and we just put a drop between the ears and 2 more drops down their back. If it doesn't rain, it will keep flies away for about 5-6 days. I can even get it on our "5 footers" by squeezing the tube as I swing my arm toward the deer. It's such a small dose, they usually don't even know it's on them so they don't lick it off.
