You checked like 110%..Correct?  Those things can work their way back in her big time. I would not lap ai her myself unless..1 Money is not an issue or you dont have a buck to breed her. If a pen mate pulled the cidr early after you put it in she may have cycled on her own already.

Last year at a farm we helped with AI, there was one doe who was missing a cidr. They went ahead and AI'd her anyway, and this was ******l, not lap. She was the first doe to have fawns and they did DNA to the AI buck.

went back found it deep inside do you guys think I will still be ok with lap I still gave the pmsg at 2am and found and pulled cidr at 10am. this is my first time guys. Thanks

Glad you went back in and found the CIDR, I'll bet the doe is also happy with you... I would consider leaving it up to your A.I. Vet... If my math is right you are 8 hours off schedule with the others but you did give the PMSG with the others. This certainly isn't the preferred scenario but It might be possible...

Questions would be;

1. what hour were you shooting for to A.I. figuring CIDR pull at 2am

2. how many head are you doing and how long can you put off doing this particular girl- I'm not sure what hour is considered to early/late, maybe someone with more experience can chime in on this... I've always thought 56 to 62 were ok, either side of that I'm not sure... and giving PMSG at different time than CIDR pull, I'm just not sure, hope someone else with more experience will give you some advice...

Wish you the best, A.I. is sure a stressful time, at least at my farm,

Find a buck you like and pasture breed her. Her synchrony will not be with the others. You have the option resetting everything by waiting 10 days on a new cervical lining to form. Then she can be again synchronized and AI by standard protocol.

If your not using high dollar semen just shoot the giz in there and then use a back up buck as planned later just in case she don't take. Worst case scenario is she misses. Big deal, the cleanup buck will cover her later. Just my thoughts on how I would do it.

We breed sheep where we put in the Folligon 48 hours before cidr pull.  She will be ok to LAP AI but will be earlier than the other does.  When you pull the cidr the progesterone stops very fast in the system of the animal.  So the PMSG will be in her whole system and trigger her to ovulate right away.  In the sheep they go about six hours faster than when we would pull the cidr and give PMSG.  I see no reason why that wouldn't be the same in deer.  I would breed her six hours earlier than your schedule with the does.  If you can't LAP AI her earlier I would breed her first as I'm sure she will be the first one ready.   I'm very interested in your results as I have been thinking of doing deer the same as we do sheep.  Please email me with the condition of the doe when you do the AI process from what the LAP AI guy says.

This LAP AI process I now use on sheep has given me 45% more Pg than my other AI process on sheep.
