Hi everyone!  Hope All Of You Have A Wonderful Holiday Season!!

Got a question about one of my does.  I noticed yesterday when she walks or runs, her belly makes a swishing noise or gargling noise.  I am not sure what this could be, but would like some possible answers and remedies if any of you experience this before.  It is a first for me since I been in the deer farming.  Thanks Everyone In Advance For Any Help.

Shawn,

Is her belly extended or bloated looking.  Are her dropping loose, light green maybe bubbles in it?  I have noticed if they get that way it is tape worms and a good worming with Pancur or Vabenzen as these are the best wormers that will kill tape worms.  Don't forget you have to worm again in 10 days with any wormer because eggs and stage 1 worms are not killed by most wormers and that includes ivermic.  Besides that ivermic will not kill tape worms.  Best way to find out if your deer have worms is collect some droppings and look at it under a scope or have a Vet do it for you.

Also too much grain will cause this problem also.  You should know which one is your problem.  But when in doubt I always look for worms first.

I have heard this before in deer with pneumonia. I didn't understand what was sloshing around. I can't believe that much fluid could be in their lungs. I wonder if clostridial issues in the rumen could cause a deer's insides to make the sloshing sound. I would be very concerned if one of my animals gut was making that sound.

Thanks Jack and Bell.  No sign of loose stool or diarrhea in this doe.  That is why I thought maybe fluid build up from pneumonia.  I appreciate your information.
