Doe with discharge

We have a 4 year old doe that had triplets 2 weeks ago. Since giving birth she has been pushing as if there is something else in there and a yellow discharge comes out every time she pushes. We have given her antibiotics. Does anyone know what this could be and what to do about it? She is eating and drinking normally and her stool is as it should be. She has no fever and takes very good care of her babies.

Thank you!

Very smart to give her the antibiotics, some probiotics wouldn't hurt, Good luck!

Jerilee,

How would you treat If you suspected it was retained placenta or uterine infection?  Is this some thing that could be treated with Aureomycin crumbles?

Thanks,

The amount of discharge and frequency of pushing is decreasing. I thinking maybe jerrliee you are correct about retained placenta. Will continue her round of antibiotics and add probiotics as well. Thanks!

Momma is doing much better!!! She has not had anymore discharge for a few days and isn't straining with pushing.  We did pull one of her little girls for the bottle as it seemed she wasn't getting quite enough to eat. She was doing quite a bit of crying but getting pushed out by her sisters. Triplets are a lot to handle and so hopefully this arrangement will help them all stay healthy and well fed as well as be a bit easier on Mom.
