does to Russia

Wondering how the experience went for people who sold does for the Russia trip. Wondered how the animals fared making that long trip. How much did they end up giving per doe?

How bout we ship Russian hunters to the US to hunt our deer instead of sending them our deer for next to nothing??? :huh:The Russian economy is booming in places, mainly the oil industry.

Agreed!!! I have said that for months now. A lot easier to bring hunters here rather than send our deer there. I assume the dead loss is pretty high

Bell if I remember correctly they were paying $300 a doe. I seen the ad last fall

For what it would cost to fly the deer there buying them is the cheap part. You sure can't put them on a container ship. I have hauled everything from whales and giant manta rays to cows horses and pigs. Anything is possible if you pay enough.

About payment??? I hope people are not being told what I was told one time by a middle man who paid me a much lower price about a month after my hunt bucks were loaded than the price we had agreed upon before they were hauled away. He told me I could go to Florida and pick them up if I wasn't satisfied.

For you guys that think it would be a lot easier to bring Russian hunters over here to hunt, then why don't you do it if its so easy?? I would a lot rather see our "junk" does go over there instead of seeing them circulate on the auction block over and over again!!

Um.... Ok... I think I missed the point of this post.

Regardless of where they would be shot, wether it be here in the u.s or over in Russia, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't make it to a auction block.

That's why as responsible stewards of our industry and as farmer's in general we should have a cull program and not pass our problems on to someone else, including overseas!

I will eat my does before I put them thru the stress of being shipped over seas. Sorry but even my worst ones mean more to me then that.

I'm right with ya SD. I heard the only lost one on the flight and I find that very hard to believe. I bring then into this world and would NOT put them through stress like that.

They were paying $250 each. Zero paperwork. As far as how well they traveled all the way there....I heard it was about 90% success.

4 of mine went along with another 30 or so that came from a few local farms. They stayed up around Shipsy for a month or so until they went.

We all spy. The US spies on everyone and Russia does as well. It is not a huge surprise. I would expect that most countries do spy on others just to be safe and I see nothing wrong with that.
