Dog Lovers AND Haters *REUNITE*

tis a good thing to know - personally I'm a dog lover who has trained my dogs to protect.

they will patrol our property lines, but not cross the lines.

Once they are introduced to a person or animal then that one is OK. They literally protect the deer and the property.

Heaven help anyone or anything that even acts like it's going to harm my wife!!!!

Along those lines - we adopted a cat that although has not been "trained" as have the dogs - now is "protecting" the property and animals on this property.

I have actually seen her send an "outsider" dog running from our property!

She just hangs around the deer pens and watches.

Never seen anything like it before.

Don't like poisons of any kind - it can get to things you do not want it to; cause it ain't selective!

I am torn on this one. At my last ranch, I lost over $100k in deer to dogs and coyotes. I love my bird dog, and she is both well trained and mannered. But, I still kill any dog/coyote on site. On that ranch, we killed around 120 coyotes and dogs a year, especially after having fed them venison for a year. The real question on the poison is "is it safe for deer and elk?" Like texas john said, poisons aint too selective.
