This is Downrange. He is a Double Down son out of a Maxbo Ranger / Peacock's twin sister doe. For our yearlings, he isn't too bad. We typically have seen big jumps in Double Down sons from 1 to 2 years of age. I will post some other Double Down sons as I get pics. He may be gone, but Double Down is a producer and most of his sons have the look. We will be offering semen out of Downrange this fall, so give us a call if interested in getting on the list.

Nice yearling. That boy should be a beast next year with that pedigree behind him!!

Just knocked him down tonight for a leg problem - looks pretty awesome. I scored him at 255 6/8". He still has a lot of growing to do, but I thought he was way smaller than that. He was 26.5" inside and had 11" G 2's with 8" splits and those awesome 7" drops on each side. I took pics with my phone, so I will post them as soon as I figure it out. I took some last night on the hoof and will post those as well. He is the best looking deer I've ever raised - so far. Thanks for the comments guys!!

Here is Dutch- like I promised. He is a 3 year old Double Down son.

Basically this thread has turned into Double Down sons minus his biggest one that I don't have an updated pic of. So hopefully you don't mind me promoting a little!

Here are his two year olds.

Here is a couple of pics of Dutch again. This time he is on his feet! Thank goodness. I appreciate the comments. Just saw two more two year olds at Kirk Kelso's ranch in Kansas- they will be over 200" as well. That makes 7 out of 12 two year olds over 200". Most are real framey. Can't wait till I see what DD can do when I put him in a "good" doe. :D

They look pretty awsome D. am seriously considering your offer on the dd semen to put in Typhoons mom. Do you have any buck fawn semen?

Dustin,

After looking at Dutch, I'm pumped. Our Double Down/Reggie doe had a buck fawn this year out of Sundowner. "Scary"

Kurt-

Believe it or not, his dam is a Bert / Springstroh's Bucky. I bought a buck from Dave Sisk a few year's back and also bought this doe. The Bucky doe is the mother of that buck, Wishbone. Wishbone was a BJ2 son on the sire side. He was a great producer and I thought that crossing DD with that Bert doe would add that BJ2 back to a deeper pedigree. If you look at Dutch, he is the exact cross of the two bucks - DD and Bert. Bert was 29" wide inside and scored 208" as a 5 x 5 with 5 small stickers. Big frame. Bert just never got any publicity. Again, my does were not named does until my 3rd year of breeding DD. I am anxious to see what those named genes will produce. Bert produced some really typical stuff for me, and we shot all of his sons in our preserve. All big framed so he has some inheritability. Every DD / Bert cross has produced big framed stuff for me. I have 1 other 3 year old and two 2 year olds that are that cross.

dustin, i know that nathan blosser also bought some of those david sisk does that had some of bert in them and they have did well for him as well ... you have some great looking DD sons !!! congrats
