We have been fighting Ecoli for about a month. Started with scours we tested stool samples. No parasites but found Ecoli. We treated 6 does with 12 cc of baytrial and 10 cc of Penn C. We also did a 10 day treatment of agromyacin in their water. Initially looked like it was working but scours is going around again. We are putting Core Bond in the water now.

We have about 45 deer in the enclosure. There was a puddle that we thought initially they were drinking our of. So we put bleach in the puddle. It has been dry for over three weeks. Not sure how they are passing it around now.

Do not know what to do next. Anyone have any ideas??

Thanks

I have treated E-coli in the past with SULMET. It is a 12.5% solution that can be found at your local feed stores. It is an oral medication, and it works pretty good.

There are various ways that e-coli can be transferred to your animals. If it were in the mud puddle then it can be in your soils. I would lime your pens. Another way of transfer is through rat droppings. Do you have rats around your pens/feeders? Do what you can to eliminate them if you do. They are carriers of e-coli and other diseases.

Good Luck!!

Be sure if you can to clean, even cut the dried poop out of the tail and hair as it will re infect. Found this out the hard way.

Thank you for your input. Looks like we are ahead of it now. No one has scours. Keeping our fingers crossed.

thanks

There is a new probiotic on the market that will help you. It is called Revive. It has bacteria that helps fight ecoli and salm. and also produces B vitamins. For more info go to deertrader.com
