Thanks Lanasvet.I'd love to know how the eastern European red deer (C.e pannoniensis )are fairing & how much genetic influence from western Europe (C.e hippelaphus) if any is in the wild herd? The Yugo reds are much larger than the Atlantics & are classed a Maraloid, intermediate ,between true red deer & wapiti.Be careful if you become attached to this species they are alot larger & more agressive than whitetails (350kg).Deer farmers like their size, but not their temperament.Hence the hybridisation.Currently Im breeding English & German red deer to type & will look seriously at the Yugo's soon.I have enough genitics in my tanks(all early eighties & some wild caught.Zagreb,Bosnia,Drava,Dr Brna,Kovar,to name a few boys)for several lifetimes. Some hinds Im picking up this Friday are sopposed to be Yugo ,be interesting to see how much if any.I'd love it if you could post some phenotype photos here if you have the opportunity.Stay Safe. Sharkey
