Fallow deer Meningeal worms?

Does anyone know if Fallow deer carry Meningeal worms like white tail do? I'd like to put some llama in with my deer to help serve as guards, but I am concerned that the fallow may pass meningeal worms to the llamas. I've lost 2 llama this year to this due to whitetail deer transmitting it on pasture. :(

We had a problem with Meningeal worm deaths with exotics in Alabama. We wormed three times a year with Ivermectin pour on on corn and had no problems after that as long as we wormed regularly. Study up on worm life cycle and deworm according to times of infection. Seems like we wormed in May?/June/Aug

I think you'll find the fallow don't need guards.

If somethings able to kill a fallow, no doubt it'll do the same to a llama.

I actually use fallow to keep snakes out of the house paddock & to stop predation on some of the smaller asiatic species.

Our guard llamas are formidable. I've had them fight off cougar and they've killed a few dogs. The deer are awful flighty, and my concern is them slamming into the fence should something get in, especially when the bucks are all in velvet.

The whitetail carry the meningial worms with out adverse the adverse effects that it may have on other deer.

Never heard of fallow carrying them, as we have both on roughly 40 acres. Fallow are pretty resistant.

But a lot of people use ivermectin injectable as a preventative to brain worm. It can be given several times a year, and I have heard of some use it monthly in really bad areas.
