We noticed on Saturday a 6 week old buck fawn had some swelling on the back side of his lower jaw and the side of his head. We began treating with antibiotics ( we like Baytril) swelling appeared to go down, however still seems slow with a rough coat. We did observe him nursing last night not nearly as aggressive as a 6 week old fawn normally would none the less he was nursing. We have checked his mouth several times and found no sores, no odor or anything out of the ordinary until this am my brother was checking the pens caught him to treat checked his mouth and found three of his top teeth on the swollen side were black still no odor, doesn't seem to be in pain.
Any ideas on what else to do or what this could be or what could have caused this?
Thanks for the help.
