I've been fighting scours for three days. I don't like to bottle raise but had a small doe with a litter of fawns and she's rejected them. She had 4, one we had to pull, breached. I've never heard of this but she had the last one approx. 24 hours after she went into labor and it is alive. She looks like she’s in trouble still looking laboring. Not sure if I'm going to put her down and treat again. Eating, drinking but keeps trying to push something out. I’m guessing she may have a dead fawn or after birth hung.
I had to bottle feed 2 last year and thought I was going to have to give up my day job. My neighbor actually did it for me. Anyway, I used liquid Spectam (spectinomycin), for pigs, gave .2ml orally twice on day one and once yesterday and they are fine this morning. I've used this stuff for several years and its always worked for me. Good luck to everyone.
