fawns with scours

I was told by another deer farm to get Day One/Dia Stat. I love this stuff --Any sign of scours I use this for my next 2 feeding you mix 1 teaspone to 4 ozs of warm water need to feed right away because it gets jelly. I has always work for me by the next feeding time no more scours. I believe I purchased it on Whitetail sales not sure I know it was on one of the deer websites. Good luck

Absolutly right ,the worms are transfered to the babies in the womb so they are born with worms. The reproductive area is a dead end for worms that have migrated there by mistake so they go dormant. But when the doe gets PG the babies are infected. Panacure horse wormer will get most worms and again ZZ is right worm them again in 14 days as this will get the worms that were in an egg stage in the fawn when wormed the first time. I also have found putting the wormer in the bottle with the milk works the best. Seems like they will suck it right down.

I've been using a product called Deliver made by Agrilabs for a few years now and want to share it with you. It has Dialine in it and is also a nutritional supplement. I found it at the Cattle Ranch supply store, local. The dialine solids up the stool. At the first sign of any scours you of course have to stop the scours in the fawns as they will dehydrate. This stuff stops it right away and makes the stool solid so then the fawn will get some fluid from what it eats instead of it going right through the fawn. You of course then treat the fawn for whatever caused the scours. Just wanted to share what works for me.

Scours-----put iodine in bottle-1/2 cc per 4 oz. Dont ask why-If your scared-dont do it.

GCW Matt, we just started using the e-colizer this year on urging of our Vet but he told us we had to get it into them within the first 6 hours after they were born. You might want to check around and see if that is correct.

Stevel that is right! We give it to them at first catch. we try to get them before 8 hours. I understand it is before the gut closes up just like colostrum.
