Yesterday I took the family to the local fair. We walked around the livestock barns looking at cows, chickens, horses, sheep, goats and many more animals. I just became more and more irritated the longer we were there. People brought hundreds and hundreds of animals to the one location. Co-mingled them together sharing feed troughs and water units. Rubbing noses, licking on each other and walking through each others droppings. Many had no visible tags at all. Most had nothing more than a generic farm tag bought at the local farm store. And this practice takes place all over the country in thousands of small towns each and every summer.

But God forbid one of our deer isn't barricaded behind a double fence and made to never have contact with a wild deer.

God forbid we don't have a whole herd inspection and shipping papers made out in advance with 2 forms of unique tags and or microchips documented in detail on those papers. And that shipping date better be within the approved window or else.

God forbid despite 5 years, 10 years or 15 years of being CWD monitored, TB Accr, Bruc Cert, that some wild deer is found to have CWD in your county, or even just your state. Because you will be quarantined and eventually shutdown or forced to quit.

Seriously???? How much more of this crap is everyone willing to accept before they stand up and say.... "Screw you! Start using science and common sense or kiss our collective A$$es!"

Not one dime should be spent on anything other than legal battles to end this biased treatment. Until this is done all we are doing is waddling through time until they have completed putting the last one of us out of business.

I know I am not alone in my feelings, just that most are afraid to say it publicly. This industry is dying at a pace faster than ever before.

Roger,

We have talked on this and you are right. I personally can't understand why people are so willing to let things go in hopes it will get better. We have done this sinse 1990 and it just keeps getting worse. I also feel the only way it will get better is if we unite and stand up for ourselves. I personally would rather go out of this industry fighting than wait for them to kill this industry down the road with excessive rules and abuse which just starves us out. Over regulation on disease issues, closing our harvest facilities, closing boarders and animal movement are all ways to starve this industry out of business. When will this industry learn we have to unite and fight these injustices in court?

Roger, you are exactly right! I for the life of me, can not understand why everyone wants to sit on their hands and pretend nothing is happening......the Brakkes fund raiser got 76 donations......76......come on people......how many deer farmers are out there.......a lot more than 76! A lot say they don't have anything to donate.....Well then donate money!! Todd set it up on there so all you have to do is bid on a donation of 50 up to 500 dollars.....there's no excuses anymore! In all honesty you need to either put up.....or shut up....you have no right to complain if you are not willing to join the fight.......every person that is a deer farmer and comes on these forums should have given towards this cause in one way or another....if you didn't you should be a shamed of your self!

Amen, our first move needs to be to kill these "ObamaDeer" standards!! Missouri Whitetail Breeders send a letter as a state to NAFEFA that voiced our concerns about the standards . We don't support them and I don't think they can change them enough to ever support them ! Everyone should voice their concerns and make sure they know how we feel. We have to stick together and say enough is enough!! If we don't do something now we will live a slow death !!

Well guys we have been saying this for how many months now and getting beat up over it. I am glad to see people are getting angry and upset about getting things shoved down our throat and the double standards being used against our industry. Roger thanks for the post and all who shared your opinions. The ACA is doing something about it. Just stay tuned and stay together

Roger, one thing you forgot, if you get caught moving a deer across state lines without the proper paperwork, it's considered a Lacey Act violation, and you are classified as a felon for the rest of your life. But if you move any other species, it's just a slap on the wrist.
