This well be my first attempt at deer farming, I spent over a year researching pedigrees, prices, feed, handling facilities and farms plus a lot more...

Here is what I've purchased to start out with. (See attachment)

Would love to hear your thoughts on my foundation stock, breeding and what sires I should look at next breeding season that would be a good cross.

Thanks in advance for your help...

That's a great starting lineup! You have some fantastic does that have been the foundation of our industry for years: Banshee, Avalanche, Blazer, and Doc just to name a few should produce some great LOOKING deer for you! I also like your AI sires: Redline Red Bull, Down Range and Vortex II... should produce very nicely for you.

Looks like you know what you want to produce based on your consistent selection of genetics... way to go!

Mike and Michael,

Thanks for the comments, I have a great person that never gets tired of all my questions and has given me great guidance and has become a good friend.

To think I meet this person because I screwed up on a auction on Whitetail Exchange.

Im always amazed at the great people in this industry, who are willing to go out of their way to help someone just getting started or anyone for that matter.

Im already excited about next year watching those buck fawns grow some bone!!!

Looks like a great start, 4 1/2 years ago we started our foundation with blazer, avalanche, thunder and patrick lines as well. We have a 2 year old that highly resembles Avalanche@2 & Blazer, we call him BR2 Halo 236@26719:2010 910 071.
