I was wondering what you guys who make your special mix of feed are doing? are you going to your local feed store and they mix it for you or how does that work and if so what are you having them mix together for your feed? I currently feed Purina Breeders mix (Textured) Thanks in advance

Come on guys its not like I'm asking for your favorite fishing spot or something or where your best deer stand is. U dnt have to worry about my deer getting bigger then yours:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

Shoot me an email and Ill let you know what we use. Someone helped us out by giving us the recipe so maybe I can do the same.

i by my corn oats and soybeans from farmers and put it in grain bank at the feed mill. when I need a grind I just order it and the make it for me. If you email me I will send it to you. I have about $11 per hundred in my grind. I run 18 % protein from March thru aug then change to 15% for my winter mix i do this by cutting back on soybean.

my mix is similar but makes use of the feed grown in our area. We use field peas, lentils, oats, wheat and barley for the majority of the feed mix, to keep the fibre up around 22% we use screenings (weed seeds cleaned out of whole grain) to this we add a standard vitamin and double mineral pack. protein is 17+ for march to september and 14+ september to march. the great thing is price 14+ $129.00 CDN (110.00 US)/ metris tonne (tonne= 2200 lbs), 17+ $145.00CDN ($123.00 US)The local mill really knows what their doing and can make a pellet that is really durable withless than 5% dust, and as we all know deer don't eat dust. In the winter we feed hay as well, summer the pastures stay thigh high with hay, gyro mowing the hay down to about 12 inches helps to keep the hay from getting "woody" and stays lush and green with a protein of 25-30% until a month or so after the first hard frost.
