Greetings fellow Fallow farmers!
Our does foal in June here in Florida. I suspect this may the the same everywhere, =-) Anyway, I have a question about out of season fawns; with Fallow, does it happen? Our first fawn is usually dropped June 1 on the dot and our last no later than June 20th. But this year, of 5 does, only 4 foaled, and that's unusual. We get all 5 every year, even when we've replaced an old doe with a young doe.
Now, I do have one doe who is quite round and looks like she might be carrying, but then again, so does the buck, LOL. What are the chances she's going to drop really late as opposed to being just fat? If she's in foal, then this will be a first fawn as she is 2 now.
Should I continue the daily scouting of the hidey holes for an easter egg fawn or give it up and wait until next year?
