I have a few barns that I need to take down and burn so I can put up some more deer pens, I was wondering if anybody has burned barns down and how did the deer react to it. I am a little nervous on what the deer are going to do.

In the winter I burn all the grass off in my pens with the deer in them. They don't care. They just look at it and lay aroung. No big deal here
We burn brush piles in our deer pens all of the time. I would not recommend burning inside a pen that has deer in it at the time but it sounds like your barns are next to the pens not inside of them.

We burn a large log pile once or twice a year in our deer pen... never any problems with the deer venturing too close out of curiosity. Being warm-blooded, I think they quickly realize when it's too hot for them. Just don't surround them in fire and all should be fine
