Have a 2 year ld buck with his antlers cut off who's been fighting with other 2 year olds with antlers cut off. Now the buck has developed fluid on his head between the antlers and radiating around to the side of his head where the antler is. Thinking of taking the buck down, lancing the area and giving him antibiotics--any suggestions?-do I leave him alone or lancing the area?

We had a yearling buck last year do the same thing. He had a lump on the top of his head half the size of a grapefruit. We put him down and lanced it to drain the pus out and then gave him antibiotics. I would recommend sticking it with a needle first to make sure it is not full of blood. James
