I noticed a while back foam on the mouth of one of my fawns but Ive seen that before when they run and play. But never like this before. Im actually finding piiles of it on the ground. Not sure what it is or what to do for it. Anyone know?

The foaming can also be caused by an inability or difficulty swallowing, chewing and or eating. This can be caused by a foreign object lodged in the fawns cheek, a broken, injured or decayed tooth, or if the fawn suffered some sort of trauma to its throat. It can also be caused by the fawn eating something it shouldn't be eating. If the other deer are not showing any symptoms and the fawn is otherwise acting normal then perhaps you should look into these as possible conditions. The fawn should be darted so that a thorough inspections of the inside of the mouth, teeth and the throat can be examined, preferrably by a vet so that the more serious conditions can be ruled out.

p.s. If the fawn is very small and having a difficult time eating from your feeder then it could be causing some throat swelling. Try putting some feed closer to the ground if you see this as a problem.
