Novartis Pharmaceutical's is the maker. I don't recommend it. It will likely have no effect on the fuso bacterial strain in your deer. It is a commercial vaccine made for the dairy industry. It is to harsh to give fawns in my opinion. I have had very poor results years ago when we used it heavily in our vaccination protocol. I saw no effect on lumpy jaw in my vaccinated fawns or adults. The isolates used in the Red Ridge vaccine were taken directly from abscesses and tissues of deer. We have around 60 fawns and no lumpy jaw this year after using the Red Ridge vaccine. There are many strains of fuso species bacteria and those in Fuso Guard are not the ones found most commonly in deer. I would try the Red Ridge vaccine. Vaccinate then boost your adult doe three weeks after the first shot. Then once yearly a month before fawning would be the best way to get immunity in your herd. If just the fawns are vaccinated the mothers first milk may work against the vaccine for three months. It is much better to vaccinate the doe shortly before they fawn. Newport Labs also sells a fuso vaccine made from isolates from tissue taken from abscesses in deer.
