Hanging Heavy Plastic

I bought a couple of rolls of the real heavy plastic to line the corners of my pens. My pens are built with galvanized pipe, not wood posts. I am planning on hanging them on the fence by drilling and using zip ties. I am worried though that with wind the plastic will tear. I am wondering about different ideas in hanging this heavy plastic. Is there any an easier way other than installing grommets every couple of feet?

Thanks.

CB-I have the wooden posts driven 4' into the ground and I had three snap due to my plastic this spring. I had to cut several V-shaped holes to let the plastic allow the air to get through. I didn't cut any plastic off, just big V's (not triangles).

I use the 11" outdoor zip ties available in a bag of 500 (29.00) from Home Depot. I have found these to become brittle over time and require periodic replacement, but at the samt time strong enough to hold the plastic, yet weak enough to fail in winds allowing the plastic to fall and the fence remain intact.

I buy 1x2x8 foot green treated deck boards. Take one and weave it through the wire, and take the 2nd one and sandwich over the woven board. Take a half a dozen constuction screws and screw the two together. We are in a high wind area. I put my posts at 12 foot apart, then weave 2 in between the posts. My plastic is braced every 4 foot. I have had very little problem with this. It also stiffens the wire. I use wood posts for my fence, so I screw a 1x2 over the plastic onto the post to hold the plastic on. With steel posts you could do the same with self tapping screws. Gary Olson, Olson Whitetails, 507-269-9791

I sell this type of plstic as well as shade cloth material, give me a call and we can talk about it

Put some up this year

on galvanized pipe using self tap in screws and it's holding well. Used the thick commercial grade zip ties for the last 4 years and had nothing but trouble with them popping off during heavy winds.

We do the same thing but I buy the 1x6x8 and rip my own 1x2's. It comes out a little cheaper this way.
