If ya had one shot?

Have to agree with Jason on this. To many variables, and with a live cover you can recoup your money a whole lot quicker. Seems your best always live to die.

Gladiator XL

Has Maxbo XL and Glad 2

Best of both worlds and not many 40" wide 400" 3yr olds!

Any choice made from a deer that is not at least 6 years old or older would seem unwise or premature. And most likely 10 years old would be more predictable. It is one thing to make a bunch of big sons but if the girls do not get it done as well, what a waste.

Tough question!

Yes I agree. That s why I like rolex and pa geronimo..max line. Others so far are showing they can throw the bucks but girls have yet to do anything

I also believe it would be huge as to what that buck was making for sons, As far as looks.

Some bucks make inches but also dont look the best. XL is getting the look and the inches. GXL would be a hard to beat for the future.

Sun Dragon may be on there also with his look and Timberjack in the mix!

While this is a great answer there is no doubt that someone picking a younger, deeper bred buck would run off and leave the guys that went with the older, guaranteed proven buck. Not all the young picks would do that of,course but with all the great bred and huge young deer there is a better producer than what we all know right now.

If that's not the case then the whole concept of AI'ing doesn't make much sense. The younger, newer and deeper crosses have to produce better offspring as a general rule or we are ALL in trouble.

They won't all do it but for the sake of the entire industry the newer does with newer bucks have to do better than the old guys. The old guys do great but we need to continually better the animals we are creating whether it is from an antler perspective, health perspective or from a better reproductive perspective.

Otherwise we would all only need to breed maxbo, Geronimo, gladiator and those sorts of bucks with the hopes of only raising shooters because what would be the point of a new breeder buck if he can't out produce his sire?

I would agree with Quad and use a new young buck that meets certain criteria. A buck that you woukld like to replicate over and over with that little bit of whitetail magic thrown In. But consistency is the key. We will have to be confident enough that he will produce based on his pedigree. My buck would be:

Made up of a combination of the above mentioned producers.

Be 2 years old. No sense wasting feed and time on 3 and 4 year olds

Be framy with big score. I get paid by look and score. Wide is good.

My pick would be Whoop D Do. Maxbo Impact (Sudden Impact over Maxbo) over Rolex...40 inches wide and 350 to 400...all at age 2. :):):)

I have to agree Mark.

I would like to have best of both worlds though.

That's why my pick is Cowboy. Free Agent over XL(Super Sister)= TOTAL PRODUCTION
