It is a cool rainy day in Iowa. A sad day. There hasn't been a day in the last ten years that I haven't thought of Dale. He was a friend and probably didn't even know it, that is what is sad. Many of you don't realize that I bought a very special doe from Dale 10 years ago this past February. Angela was a short yearling when I got her. Dale consigned 5 Pegasis granddaughters to the very first Top-30. That was in the day, when the deer actually made the trip to the sale barn. (things have really changed). Anyway, only 4 of Dale's fawns made that trip, one got loose and wasn't caught back in time for the journey. Antlers Internation had another auction that February. Yellow-32 (Angela) made the trip so did the pictures of the bucks in her pedigree. BIG TYPICALS!! NO question I was going to buy that fawn. She is the foundation, the rock buy which the "A"Teams is being built. She is Amos' mom. Yes there has not been a day in over 10 years I haven't thought about Dale, as I always wanted to show him the wonderful deer I have because some little doe got loose one cold winter January day in 1999. Today, a sad day for sure. A "deer" friend is gone but he will always be remembered here in Iowa.
