I've heard some reports that Indiana is suddenly doing some random inventory counts on deer and exotics. From what I have heard they are planning on eliminating the deer and exotic farming in the state (I have not been able to confirm this anywhere, it is second hand information supposively told to them by an inspector). Does anyone have any information on this?

Another reason could be they want to be like Montana. Here they established a herd inventory to establish a tax to run the State health cervid department. Then they placed a small tax on our animals for the start of the program. We now pay $32. a head tax per animal each year on our animals. I guess they can also use a tax to help elliminate this industry. America sure is great. Did I mention cattle pay almost no tax. LOL

Andrew, I have not heard of any herd inventory taking place but then it would not shock me! I dont know if your a member of the Indiana deer farmers ***. But if your not you should join. There's a big meeting in Kokomo on the 20th of oct. Indiana could use all the support we can get just as all the states can! This is a great industry and we all need to rally and protect our private landowners rights!
