It seems we have a choice to make!

I recieved an interesting email this morning asking if i would like to join a New Deer Forums!   Seems like its legit over there. No names as to who spearheaded this new site but i see many different options and the guys that dont like the idea of having to pay to list something on the site for something you have for sale on your farm will like this site.  I also see a special place on there just for Fawn Care.  That will be a big hit for many. Interesting!!!!!

I will stick with this one. Russell has supported the site and it has been very beneficial to me. I have no problem with $35 a year. The other site will charge for their service sooner or later. No one will keep a site maintained for free forever.

I am with Brett. Russell has been a major reason the industry grew and his site has been the most informative over ANY OTHER form of information sources. Nothing to even discuss concerning an alternate site especially on this site.

All Russell was asking is $35 FOR THE YEAR and you can advertise all you  like.


I have spent $35/month and got a lot less reponse than from this site.

I have an idea. I know we have a members only thread but,


can you have another thread that is for paid members only??? If they have paid their $35 then they can post a new thread but non-paid can respond on the thread.


I think the beef is that people would like responses on their animals and would like to do it in thread view.

I think I'm like most of you.  There is only one choice and that is this site.  What I can't believe is the crap about a charge for selling on this site.  Heck going out one night and I spend five times that.  Thirty five dollars is a cheap price to pay to get to people who are interested in your product.  Just get over it and thank Russel for his service.  Not one of you would put in the years he has at no cost to people using his site and now some of you ***** about it.  Sometimes I just can't believe this industry and other times they just shine heads above other people.  Gotta love this industry.  Just saying people think about it before you open your mouth nothing is free forever.

The bitching about a fee on this site is an example of a society accustom to intitlements. This is why the country is falling deeper in debt and appreciation for what one has is all but gone. Too many are always looking (and expecting) a free handout and when they do get one they don't appreciate what they have been given and expect more.

I am also with the rest of you.  I have met Russell and he has helped me with a Business Plan.   He gets nothing from this site except the satisfaction we have a site to talk amongst ourselves.  No advertisements, pop up and etc. 


 


I don't speak much on here but this one I will weigh in on.

A tip of the hat to Russell, I see no reason to join any other site. If I had anything to sell I would gladly pay $35 to sell it on here. Last I checked that is less then the cost of posting a classified in the local paper. If you are selling something industry specific, why would you not want to pay $35? Thanks for all of your hard work up to this point, and for your future work to come Russell! I love the site!

I like the new site competition is always good.

I love this site!................I applaud Russel for his product and his commitment to this site and it's users and to the Industry!  $35 to advertise should be a mute point in comparison to what ANYTHING in this business cost!


 


I visited the "New" site I did Register................................BUT..........ANY Comparison of the "New" site and this site would be like comparing an old Dos run version of a computer and a Windows 7 system.................But with time all things change and get better!

I see it like this.... It's a division of a church except I can go to both on Sundays. Either way It's an outlet let's say a source to feed my addiction! Will they both unite unlikely, but will it help fuel my passion for this industry definitely!

Back in 2000 Russell was asking for a few deer stories to get more interest in this site and many including myself submitted great stories about our experience in deer farming. In the early days Russell worked very hard to get the best deer site available to us and has more then suceeded for no cost to us with Russell always picking up the tab. I don't know what Russell's interest in deer was back then but I say THANK YOU RUSSELL and it's about time you charge  for ads after all these years . You have become part of our family with this site and I would not  think at looking at another site.

This site has been an excellent resource for all deer farmers. Especially the new ones. I am here to stay! Where was the competition all those years the service was free. $35, and only if you want to advertise, will not make a difference to anyone serious about breeding deer.
