His Dam is out of a Doc son and white 18. If I'm not mistaken w18 is an angus/chief doe cross.

WOW! That explains his big body as well. Gold Bucky sons have huge bodies and huge frames on their heads. Look forward to sein what he does at two. He reminds me alot of Extra Gold as a yearling he was also a 4 by 5 with long tines.

Thanks everyone for the comments, emails and msgs. All I ve done is feed & water him. I have to say thanks to Michael Peters and the rest at Cola Blanca Deer Co for breeding the yearlings mother to one of their fine bucks and selling her to us. Thanks again.

I'll post the score on this thread when he drops the other side.

Our yearling (Red 4) finally dropped his other side and I scored him last night. His final score was 160 3/8". I know theres lots of bigger yearlings out there but, in a year that has been far less than perfect for us here at JBC Whitetails, Im really happy anbout this deer. Thanks everyone. Jeff

Congrats again, Jeff. He will be one to watch this summer. Love that typical look.

P.S. I think it's time to give him a name. I'm thinking " Michael Jr. ". lol

Wow congrats, That is a great score for a yearling! There a very few yearlings that are typicals that would score that high.

Awesome framed deer to say the least...width...height...and just one year old.

Like Mike says...keep him healthy. Should in all likelihood be over 200 next year, and hopefully way over. :) Be anxious to see him next September. Best of luck with him Jeff!

Mike if Red 4 wasn't so pretty I'd consider naming him Mike Jr. You told me to keep him healthy and if I named him Mike JR he may die of shame. Lol. Just joking buddy. Thanks again for selling me his mom.
