Ok lets say i breed a doe with a straw of all male semen and she gives me a buck and a doe fawn. Whats the chances of her not having all her plumbing inside to be able to breed and have fawns herself later in life. Could she be like, Hermaphrodite or would it be that somehow in the process of splitting the semen a female swimmer skated by?  Has anyone had this happen yet?

Your serious?

Mike, I would say a girl slipped by in the sorting process ?

Don't know why she wouldn't breed ? But I suppose anything is possible ??

I bought a doe fawn that had a womb brother and a womb sister....................Sister bred fine on another farm but doe fawn I bought was a Hermaphrodite  But I didn't find that out till I went to A/I her the following year and different A/I tech told me the 1/2 straw of Hardcore..........................Just as well a been shot on the FLOOR!  :(

Mike,

Yes people have females even with the male sexed semen. I forget what the % is maybe 5-10%???

As with any female, you could get a hermaphrodite not sure what the chances are.

The sorting process is done with a magnetic field.  Has anyone heard of deformaties with sexed semen??

there is a new sorting machine coming out soon that uses a laser to zap the unwanted *** of the sperm and my understanding is that they have a much higer recovery rate and therefore it should be better than the old method.  I think that is why sexing technogolies has reduced their price this last year.

Yeah i was told a good one today on the male vs female semen straws and how and what he was told could happen during the sorting process by the vet.  Very strange for sure and i tried to put my 2 cents in on what i thought on the subject but this fella thinks something went haywire. lol     He says he will be calling the vet to get his thoughts!
