WillPenn Whitetails said:Bam has been incredible for us so far. Just worked on some fawns and was able to have 4 of them down and out with 0.2 cc of bam each in less than 10 minutes. They were back up and out of the building in 15 minutes after reversal.
If if was doing major surgery or collecting semen i would still use xylazine/telazol.
I have done probably 30 major surgeries on ONE deer over the last eight years using BAM or its component Medetomidine. Only thing I've added is sometimes I use 1cc Ketamine added after the buck is down. I have to go in his abdomen and open a hole up so he can pee straight from bladder to the ground. Some of these surgeries have been pretty invasive and have take up to an hour and a half.
The buck is 200# and the last surgery I used 1cc BAM, no Ketamine. Out for an hour and up in five minutes after reversal injected.
