has anybody ever noticed a yearling sucking on a doe? I am sitting here watching fawns nurse and one of last years fawns came up and joined the fawns... I had to take a double take to make sure of what I was seeing.

Anybody else ever notice this?

ha ha I thought I was the only one with big babies! I have had it happen but only with one doe. It appears that it would be more common if the doe allows it.

John & Scott I`ve got a yearling buck that has been trying every chance he gets. He`s just a little rough with the horns and she runs off. I took a bottle to him to see if he would take it and he sucked it like there was no more tomorrows.. Looks like we all have another sucky baby.

I have the same thing. I have TWO yearling bucks in the pen that suck on one doe. She is the biggest, meanest doe I have, yet she lets these yearlings nurse on her. No wander they are doing so good. They are the nicest yearlings I have...ones an 8 point and the other is a 9 point. The most odd thing about this is that one of these is her fawn from last year, but the other isn't. Actually she hated that fawn last year, now she lets him suck on her.

Darndest thing I have seen. I guess if the fawn has enough to eat, nobody is getting hurt. This doe only has one doe fawn on her right now, I had pulled and sold the other fawn at 2 days old.
