I am wondering if there is a connection to late antler loss and late breeding.

If loss of testosterone makes antler fall off?

If the last doe is caught late, does he lose his antlers later because his hormones are still elevated?

I have questioned the same thing, at least in my mind. I even changed pens so my bucks and does were not next to each other, they all dropped in February, dont think moving does had anything to do with it but who knows,

all deer will have a different level baseline of testosterone and will shed there antlers when there hormones tell them to, sometime between December 25 and May 1.

the breeder buck I used a few years ago lost his rack the first week in January, but a doe fawn gave birth in july, or very close to, So he more than likely bred her without his anlters, so in my expirence it dosent matter.
