NJ, deer are kept in PA
Was normal yesterday, now this morning its loose and runny, dark in color. im feeding straight red cap. Appetite is still good, and still eats very well I looked in the older forums and didnt find much. He did bloat about 4 days ago. I treated with gas drops and all had been well since then

suggestions?

Thanks for your time

we have great luck using the shock effect fawn paste

it has charcoal in it that helps slow up the loose stool

also adding pumpkin to your milk will help

if you get on it quick you should have no problems

We start immediately with pumpkin right in the bottle. Started one last night actually, very runny now she is making pies sorry for the pun. Tomorrow she should be cleared up.

get a stool sample and have it checked by a vet, knowing, or eliminating causes makes treatment easier and faster.

How much Red Cap are you giving each feeding?

He is 2 weeks old as of yesterday. Feeding about 15-22 ounces per day.

Thank you all who have replied. Will be getting pumpkin and starting that this next feeding

That would be my suggestion if it don't get better in a day or 2. Last year I had 1 that I tried everything on and nothing worked. It ended up having Coccidiosis, I wish I did the fecal sample first cause it would have been a lot less of a headache.

Marquis is THE treatment for coccidiosis. Expensive, but it KILLS the coccidia. Google Marquis, you can find compounded meds and single tube buys.

In this peticular case, I don't think it's cocci. Just fed pumpkins with 8 ounces of red cap. He went poo and all was normal again.... I will be getting marquis to have on hand.... Thank you all very much for the fast replys. It is great to have a vast amount of info from knowledgeable people, all in one spot!!!!!! Thanks again to all!!!

Redgolds good news. We usually feed 2 teaspoons 4x a day. Other factors as well could cause loose stool. Heat or stress can cause this as well from what we noticed over the past few years. Sorry not getting back sooner was flying earlier.

Thank you hunters dream. He is doing really well at the moment but that could change at the blink of an eye as most of you know...
