What should I give him?

All the threads on Lumpy Jaw give varying answers for med administration.

I don't have Draxxin or Baytril. Should I use LA 200 or Nuflor?

I was thinking Nuflor.

Do we double the cattle dosage on back?

6 cc per 100 # ?

Or 2cc per 100 # ?

Do I have to give him a follow up dose in a few days?

Yes do nuflor..it worked for me but it is very thick and you will have to get your hands on him to use it. I gave mine 10cc every week for 5 weeks after i drained it and it opened up.I did half im and half sq. When you get him down stick an 18gauge needle in to see if you drain puss.

Tetradure(if you can find it) or noromycin. 5 cc in muscle every 7 days for one or two treatments usually. Good luck and God bless

The Vet is on her way out. Were just going to dart him and check it out.....could even be an absessed tooth...who knows at this point. Thanks for all the advice. Dr. Joe,,,,I'll let the Vet know what you advised regarding tetradure if it is Lumpy Jaw!

My doe fawn has had it twice.....The first time we had to open it up, it drained for days. Then it came back...I used Albon the second time and it reduced the size in 3 days and totally gone now 12 days after. I know a couple of other guys that use Albon and it works for them..It is a RX not over the counter, but it is only $20 per bottle.

Had this problem last year. two yearling bucks had these golf size balls on their jaw. After much discussion and speculation we darted them and investigated. Tried to poke and drain fluid with no success. Decided to lance and WOW! Greenish white THICK flem/fluid came ozzing out. gave tetradure 300 and dressed the wound w/ Iodine generously. It came back on the one buck but after a week it opened itself and it has never came back. Give him generous dose of anti-biotic and clean the wound real good and it should be fine. Good Luck!
