I still have one doe who was last year's bottle fed fawn. I have been seeing legs stirring in her belly for a couple of weeks now but she still hasn't bagged up yet. I noticed her first being persued by a button buck around December 10th. I figured she would be full term by now.

I guess I'm curious if others still have awaiting live bred fawns to birth.

By the way she is the doe in my avatar so eat your heart out Reed and Allen!:D:p

Rusty she may not bag up until the fawn hits the ground. I`ve had fawns have babies in June and July and I never saw a bag of any kind until the babies hit the ground. That`s not uncommon with youngins.

Rusty

We still have one live bred doe that is yet to fawn. I hope she drops soon because it's going to start getting real hot here in Missouri real quick. She's bred to Sundowner, so I'm real anxious to get those fawns on the ground and the bottle. Guess we'll just have to wait till she's ready, but it's still killin me. Hopefully soon. She's been bagged up for about a week or better. We'll see.

Rusty I'm still waiting on two, I don't know how the one can go another second. She is huge and her bag looks like it could burst. Just playing the waiting game. And yes I am JEALOUS:p. She is so cute:eek::);). Allen

Rusty, I dont have that problem, I start my chasing in October. By looks of the pics you didn't catch her until snow was on the ground.

Hey Jay, just what are YOU chasing? I think if I see you in Ohio around Oct. I`ll lock up my does.  :D

Rusty I`ll tell ya when to expect your baby, babies. When their done baking!!! :D You just may have a Christmas Baby. I`ve never bottle fed at Christmas. Tell me how it is. :D :D :D

Mitch, thats not funny! We feed at christmas and it's just another day in the office! Still waiting on are french fries (FAWN FAWNS) bred around 50. By the looks of Rusty's smile he caught that girl more than once, if ya know what I mean! ZZ

Now that was funny ZZ..........Rusty that is a pretty big smile you got there........kind od what I looked like when i got the red cap enema!!!

Our last doe dropped a buck fawn and a doe fawn today. What a relief. Sundowner on top of Double Down/Reggie scariest combo on our farm. Kinda makes me nervous.

ZZ, does that mean you don`t need or want your 2 front teeth for Christmas? I know, you just want new nipples.   People should know if we get together there`s going to be a laugh. :D :D

Speaking of breeding early, DC must have tried to intercept already. Haven't seen him posting in a while. We had the last set of fawns Saturday out of Maxbo Solidcore. They are on the bottle and going strong. Rusty, good luck...

I havent had any yet, out of 6 does. I am thinking only 2 caught and are pregnent. Its so screwed up this year. I have a question, If I do get fawns in August and leave them on the mother the fawns will be nursing in November still, Does this mean the does will not go into heat like they would in normal years? This past winter was far from normal, the buck seemed to have no interest in the does in Nov. or Dec., but I did see him mount a doe at the feeder on Jan. 22, so that would make her due on Aug. 6. two of my does are huge, but it dosent look so good for the rest this year, they are just not big bellied like they were in other years.

I had Fawns in August last year and pulled them the 1 week in Oct. and they did just fine. Everything breed fine also.

It has been almost a full week since original post. Wife called me home from work 5 days ago saying she was ready to deliver. She did seem to be in labor but has since calmed down and is eating and walking around like another day at the park. She is last years fawn but now I am wondering if there may be twins in her belly. She seems bigger than the 4 year old that delivered twins.

Maybe for Christmas this year I will ask for new pritchard nipples!

I'm curious are there are any of you that are still waiting???

Hey Rusty we have one left. She was last year fawn and looks like it could be any day. Really looking forward to her fawns as she is a redoy Jordon/thunderstorm doe bred to a Sneakers son. My wife looks out the window upstairs and has me or my boy running out checking under every clump of grass that she thinks she sees hiding those fawns daily. I really need to get her some better binoculars. Hang in there. Rick

Rusty, Not to whorry. When the breads done she'll take it out of the oven! Your not alone, waiting on 20 covers and 25 fawn fawns. When these guys are talking about knots on their babys head we'll be asking about scours wiping butts and fun stuff like that. Your not alone. You'll be able to have cristmas carols for your babys and give them all biblical names , life is good!!! Tell em ya planned it that way. ZZ

I am STILL waiting, this is hard!! I was expecting them in May like normal, and have walked the pens everyday since mid May. One doe looks ready any day because she finally got a full udder bag, but everyday I come home from work, no fawn yet. I am going to have to stay home from my beach trip in August this year if they dont drop before then.
