I just seen the new picture of Maxbo XL on new antlers. He is huge!! If you have not seen him you need to check him out. I started this thread to see what everyone thinks about him going over 400". Maybe has a shot at the record. I heard that he has some big yearlings out there. If you have some of XL yearlings will you please post them. I think that I am going to use him this year in my breeding program as he is just to big not to use.

I have a good friend that has an awesome yearling out of Maxbo XL . He was up to 15 points already but broke off one antler last week . He'll be excited if MAXBO XL goes over 400 thats for sure . He's already talking about breeding the dam of this yearling back to MAXBO XL too !!

is there no more so yearlings out there. Come on guys let's see them

Here is a Maxbo XL yearling. This one is from Rocky Ridge Whitetails.

I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who just seen a picture of a monster yearling out of maxbo xl and a maxin doe that xtreme whitetails own. It is supposed to be unbelievably huge. Does anyone know of this deer and does anyone have any pics?? My buddy doesn't have a pic and I would like to see him

Anymore xl bucks out there. Get ready boys because Xl is about to push the record for all it can take. I just got an updated picture from a buddy and we are trying to get it on here. He is HUGE!!!!

I just hope we can keep some frames on these deer, they are getting to look like explosions of antler on thier heads. Is that what we really want?

I'll back jason21 up. These animals are awesome, but the "hunters" did not want non-typicals last year. These are just awesome deer though. I cant believe how far we have came in 5 years. When we got in the business, if you could reach that 200" mark, you were in the money. Now I have several, and the mark to hit is "who knows". Hunt area owners sometimes buy by look rather than score. taking nothing away from these new monsters, but show me more "Redlines".

I havent been a big part of this industry in the past few years, Iown several deer in IN. and am busy with other businesses that I have to spend my time with ,but I love the deer industry. I have spent countless hoursw on the phone talking with Darren Deckard and many others . It seems to me that evrytime Darren gives me advice on his deer or someone elses deer it always turns into a profitable situation for me . Yes I am giving Darren a plug here, but I truly think he knows his deer, and has an uncannay ability to see what the market will do in the future. Darren once told me that God doesnt recognize clicks and he doesnt look at who spent the most on advertising in the magazines and catalogs, it is a matter of who studies and picks the right genetic crosses and takes care of thier deer the best.the people that succede are the onesw who wqant it the most and forget about the headgames that 90% of the deer people play. Keep going like you are, Darren and Iwill be watching you all the way.It is the normal cycle of life for nw talents to rise and older talents to step aside. Good luck and thanks for everything! Jason

Jason I don't understand what Darren has to do with Maxbo Xl going over 400". Please clarify or start a new thread

Dont let me get crossways. I'm rooting for XL as well. I like the non-typicals, I just cant sell them down here. I bought into some Maxbo-Extreme genetics this year, so I hope those deer do good. I'm just crossing all of these back to my P.J. buck, hoping to get P.J.'s frame with Extremes extras.

I gotta back you guy's on that Maxbo XL is awsome BUT I like those BIG TYPICALS, SORRY RICHIE I'll take a frame anytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you saying ? Maxbo XL doesn't have a frame. He is a huge frame deer and the only non-typical stuff is the damaged side. If it wasn't damaged he would be one of the biggest framed deer to date.

Could someone post a picture of XL? I have never saw a picture of him. He must be big!

Thanks Nick Biser

I have a pic from last week but I need to see if I can post it. I don't want to make anyone upset and I need to figure out how to get it off my I phone. But to answer your question he is really BIG!! I am not a official scorer but I would put him between 400-415" right now and growing ALOT every week. I will try my best to get someone to put a pic on here in a few days.

richie0033 Idont have anything to do with XL going over 400". Actually I used XL in my AI program, actions speak louder than words, I think he has the ability to move massive amounts of blood to his antlers and that is a very hard trait to come by. I paid nearly 40x for three straws of XL 2 years ago.I have said it before and I will say it again, the perfect deer hasnt come alond yet in my opinion.Someday abuck will surface with a huge typical frame and the ability to pump blood like XL.Thats the one Im looking for.Until then I will just watch these beautiful animals and enjoy them.I have 4 XL yearlings on the ground now-I will post pics soon. Thanks for the compliments Jason, I dont understand why Richie0033 got so upset when you mentioned me on the thread he started. Richkie0033 mentions any deer that Xtreme bunch owns everytime he sees an opening on every thread on here.I love this industry and most of the honest hard working people who are in it,I love to sit down with Gene Fleese or Dan Kuhns and listen to anything they have to say. They have leaened through trial and error and know what they are talking about. I couldnt care less about listening tosomeone who stepped into this with apocket full of money and think that they are instantly at the top of the food chain.Sorry I mentioned Dan Kuhns and Gene Fleese on thread, but I think this is a public forum.

Apparently I am misunderstood. I did not get upset because your name was mentioned Darren. I don't understand why you are mad now and saying all this BS. Why do you think that I got in this business with alot of money and I am trying to buy my way in. You must have me mistakin for some else. I am sorry that you jumped to that conclusion so fast but that is your fault not mine. I love this business and I will not do anything to harm this industry. I am glad that you used XL , as now I am going to this year as it will be my first time to A.I. I would like to see your yearlings and I hope they turn out good for you. Good luck and God bless

:):)I dont know who Richie0033 is, I have never met him.I got a few phone calls about my last post I was not refering to anyone in particular when I said the people have come into this industry and bought thier way in! My point is I think success in this business comes from animal husbandry as much as anyting and I love to talk to the people who have raised these animals for years--I dont call a vetinarian when I have deer problems, Icall someone who knows thier deer. The Xtreme boys are smart, hard working guys and in no way was I reffering to them. I mentioned in my post that I used XL in my AI program and am glad that I did! Lets keep this website positive,it is a privelage to have a place like this to share information and talk about our craft.:)

Darren, well said. You have started to show what selective breeding can do on your farm. You also hit the nail on the head with some people buying their way in. My guess is we all in some way are buying our way in. The leaders for all of us seem to be the ol' timers such as Mr Flees, Mark Sipes, David Mcquaig, Curt Waldvogel, Griffith Bros. and so many others that have paved the way. Their trail and error have made it a little easier for all of us to enjoy these great animals. I would like to thank them and everyone of you that are there to help fight the fight to keep our deer.

p.s. can I have a straw of Redline????? lol
